B e a u t i f u l BRISBANE
Ahhh beautiful Brisbane. It always gets such a raw deal after the cool cities, Melbourne and Sydney stand like the two big sisters bullying the smaller, but some may say prettier sister. It’s got so much to offer yet people overlook it, consumed with other’s opinions on the slower paced Queensland capital. For one, it’s a hell of a lot warmer so that’s why it’s a slower pace and two, it’s arguably got some of the worlds most beautiful beaches right on it’s doorstep. There’s Stradbroke island, Byron Bay and Noosa to name a few that are within an hours drive from Brisbane. There are also a million farmers markets, selling the most amazing fresh food produce and enough organic cafes to shake a stick at.
Best of Brisbane:
Sourced Grocer, an amazing breakfast place, New Farm.
Pearl Cafe, Wooloongabba.
The Power House markets, New Farm. Every other Saturday for vintage furniture, fresh food and clothing.
Lightspace (an incredible creative studio and wedding venue), Fortitude Valley.
The Gun Shop Cafe, West End. Amazing breakfast in their outdoor garden.
Wooloongabba Antique centre, for all sorts of amazingness.
Super What Not, City. A cool late night bar.
Grilled!!! The best healthy burgers and fries with rosemary sea salt…oh my god.
GOMA. The Gallery of Modern Art.
Most importantly, it’s where I met the most beautiful group of people you can ever wish to meet. I found my soul sister, Danielle, of white+white weddings and events and gorgeous dearest friends Kristin of Tin Mouse Marketing fame (who designed this beautiful website BTW) Marisa, Jessy, Sierra, Siobhan, Katy, Michelle, Nicole, Sarah and Ali (as well as all the boys and all my working colleagues) who are just the loveliest human beings. They welcomed me to Brisbane when I knew no-one, took me under their beautiful wings and will forever stay in my heart. Let’s not also forget my gorgeous brides when I worked for white+white who I adored working with and felt I’d known all my life. Juliette, Sarah, Katya, Deanna, Hollie and lovely Bali bride Sarah. Here is just a few snapshots of the happiest of memories. Please don’t miss Brisbane out on your travels across the East Coast. It’s a tropical city paradise filled with the best people, beaches and experiences you’ll ever have…
