REAL WEDDING : SYDNEY
I used to dream of Australia as a little girl. In my mind, I would always be living there, sunbathing on weekends and coffee shop hopping on weekdays. Endless days in a sunny haze. So when I actually got to live out my dream, I didn’t think alllllll of my dreams would come true by becoming a wedding planner and stylist. My latest Sydney wedding, and certainly not my last, was the wedding of Clare-Marie and David, a stunning multi-cultural couple. She from England with Valencia origin and He a born and bred Sydney sider, this couple were destined for each other. After meeting casually as Clare-Marie travelled up the East Coast, it was his brother who she originally met in a late night bar. He thought she would be perfect for his brother and he set about arranging the blind date when Clare-Marie arrived back in Sydney. Cue lots of cute coffee dates, stolen kisses and a comedy night that had her guessing whether he was actually interested in her. His coyness gave way to a beautiful relationship before Clare-marie returned back to England. Fearing he would lose her forever, Dave flew all the way over to England to ask her the big question “Will you move to Australia to be with me?”. Within weeks, Clare-Marie was heading to Sydney, bags packed, tears shed and some tough goodbyes. What can you say when something is meant to be? This union certainly is…
It was the biggest pleasure planning and styling Clare-Marie and Dave’s wedding day. A bride who knew what she wanted but took guidance with grace. We created the most beautiful peachy blooms, with natural wooden accents complimenting the Bendooley Book Barn venue to a T. Rustic features gave a sweet nod to her Spanish heritage, with a stunning backless lace gown and headpiece knocking everyone dead.
The bridal table was set under a spectacular canopy of peachy blooms and green foliage, creating a magical setting as guests entered. Delicate lace trimmed place mats, peach napkins and hand calligraphy name cards added the finishing touch, before candle light set the room in a dazzling romantic glow. As guests left, I arranged for giant sparklers to be lit to guide the way for the happy couple to exit. It was a moment they’ll never forget and one that ended my time in Australia in a gorgeous way.
