Isla & Smith V A L E N T I N E
Never one for an overly cheesy declaration of love, I find myself bewildered that this year’s got me slightly more enthusiastic . Mainly because I find myself in the company of a very special man, but also because I walk past the shops full of vomit inducing cards and cannot fail to laugh out loud. Some are hilarious: ” You’re as beautiful as a tree or a high class prostitute” or “It won’t suck itself” but I’d like to think that these would be followed by another, gooey, beautiful card with hearts and stick people holding hands. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be a day of dis-ingenuine sentiment and cries of “you only spent a fiver?!” but a day of doing or buying something little and special for the one who may not know just how special they are to you the rest of the year. It could be the smallest gesture but one that will bring the biggest smile. It’s not about expensive flowers, boring set menus in restaurants or who spends the most, but that small thought that you know will bring a smile to your beloved. Making an effort (any effort) is far more important than what it actually is. Wrapping their favourite chocolate bar in stylish paper, pretty underwear…or just underwear with no holes in (and this works both ways), moulding your bacon into heart shapes for breakie or just spending the day together doing what you love the most! But if you need a bit more inspiration, check out some of our favourite ways to celebrate Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day!!
Lots of love, Isla & Smith xoxoxo
