English wedding trends 2015
Here at the Isla & Smith studio, we pour endlessly over interior, fashion and travel magazines to unearth the next coolest concept. We try not to look at too many other wedding ideas in order to create something fresh, inspiring and unique. Seeing a spanish tile on the floor of a Buenos Aires apartment gets us more excited than seeing what someone else has had at their wedding. Each of our weddings are bespoke, tailored to you as a couple and what you love the most. This results in a spectacular wedding day surrounded by the things that mean the most to you. To give you some inspiration, here are our top wedding trends for 2015.
Putting your budget into a jaw dropping vision is perhaps one of the best ways to ensure a wedding your guests won’t forget in a hurry. Romantic, magical and with the ultimate WOW factor, hanging installations above the bridal table or at the guest entrance = crazy amount of photo opportunities!
ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN (THE NEW VINTAGE)
After the K-Mid effect and awesome fascination with our royal gals, England is big news again! Pretty pastel afternoon teas, picnic style weddings in the park and delicate tea roses create a drop dead gorgeous english country garden wedding. A new take on the vintage look, 2015 sees weddings becoming more modern in this department, with fresh pastels set against white backdrops with cooler vintage furniture such as french chaise lounges. Dripping in romance, this look is set to run and run.
Where do you find most of your wedding guests? By the bar!! It makes sense then that the bar should play a pivotal role in the styling of your wedding day. Making this (normally drab) area into a cool place to hang is easy and fairly cost effective. You just need the right wedding planner to style it up for you…
The holy grail of making your tables look magazine worthy! The perfect way to introduce some interior design gorgeousness into your concept is with a table runner. Printed, ruffled, coloured or textural, table runners add the beautiful finishing touch to a simple wedding day look. In 2015, we’re seeing print make a comeback, pastel coloured linens and modern white.
I’ve loved Morocco inspired design since forever, so I’m thrilled it’s making a big splash in 2015. Stunning muted metals in silver, gold and brass add depth and luminosity, with rich toned florals or simple whites add warmth and a celebratory vibe. Exotic and alluring, the Marrakech inspired concepts are deeply romantic and surprisingly adaptable to the most traditional of brides.
