REAL WEDDING // YORKSHIRE
Ahhh Yorkshire-our beloved home when we’re not travelling the world creating worldwide destination weddings. We’re a teeny bit biased but boy do we love Yorkshire! Lush rolling hills, picturesque country cottages and delicious yorkshire pudding laden dinners (hence why we have to go the gym). The only downside is the more-often-than-we’d-like grey skies, which means an outdoor wedding has as much chance of happening as me winning the lottery. Marquee weddings though are some of our favourites to style, because the options are endless. Draped, non draped, clear topped, glass topped, hat topped, open sides, draped sides…you name it, it can be done. They are the more expensive wedding day option, due to the size of the team needed to erect the marquee, as well as the hidden extras such as extra toilets, catering kitchens, flooring, lighting, dance floors and, unfortunately for our beautiful British weddings, heating. However, with the right team and tricks of the trade, they can look beautiful whatever the budget! For this July Yorkshire wedding, we teamed up with our favourite Harrogate based floral designer, Lucy Macnicoll, where we dreamt up this stunning colour palette of just the right mid-pink to make the rustic marquee POP. Contrasting elegantly against the bespoke caramel coloured linens we sourced, Lucy’s floral pieces added a gorgeous wild and whimsical feel to Hannah and Hampus’s special day. Originating from Stockholm, Hampus’s heritage gave us endless inspiration as we created traditional Swedish themed name cards, coupled with nordic elements such as rosemary sprigs, which hinted at the pine tree-esque landscapes of Sweden. As wedding planners and designers, we think outside the box to inspire and create a co-hesive look to your day, infusing personal touches to make your day feel unique and special to you as a couple. We were incredibly lucky to work with the amazing Ann Kathrin-Koch, who captured the day so beautifully. Using film as her canvas, Ann’s work takes her all over the world, creating fine art photographs to last a lifetime. Despite the grey Yorkshire skies, the day really was a dream. Here are our favourites from Hannah + Hampus’s stunning Yorkshire wedding.
